Refund and Cancellation Policy – HomeAwe
Last updated: May 15, 2025
At HomeAwe, we plan each activity months in advance and sign contracts with venues, guides, transportation providers, and service suppliers who require non-refundable payments. Due to these upfront costs, we follow the policy below to ensure fairness to participants and to maintain the sustainability of our company.
All requests must be sent in writing to info@home-awe.com from the same email used during booking.
The applicable refund policy is determined by the date the email is received (Jerusalem time, UTC +3).
Refunds are processed to the original payment method within 30 business days.
Important Notes
Payment: Full payment is required at registration.
Refund: Non-refundable in the following scenarios:
1. Withdrawal without notification
If you register but do not notify us of cancellation or become unresponsive, no refund will be issued.
2. Cancellation 1–2 days before the workshop
No refund, unless a replacement is found. If so, your payment will be credited for future workshops.
3. Cancellation 3 or more days in advance
Full amount will be credited for future workshops.
4. Any other scenarios not mentioned above
Same policy applies – no refund.
Credit Policy:
100% of the paid amount will be issued as HomeAwe credit, valid for any future workshop or event within 12 months from the original workshop date.
The credit can be transferred once to a friend for free (notify us with participant details at least 48 hours in advance).
Why?
Because venue, trainers, and material costs are paid in advance and non-refundable. However, we still want you to benefit from the value, so we provide full credit instead of cash refunds.
These custom trips involve two non-refundable components:
Reservation fee sent directly to the partner project (e.g., animal sanctuary or community farm).
Coordination fee paid to the local organizer overseeing and supporting the trip.
As the partners retain their share regardless of attendance, 50% of the total amount paid is always non-refundable.
Notice Period Before Start | Cash Refund |
---|---|
≥ 30 days | 50% of total paid |
15–29 days | 25% of total paid |
≤ 14 days | 0% (but booking may be transferred – see Section 5) |
Initial Deposit (Non-refundable): 25% of trip cost, due upon booking.
Remaining Balance: Due 45 days before trip start.
Notice Period Before Trip | Refund from Balance (Deposit is non-refundable) |
---|---|
≥ 45 days | 75% of balance |
21–45 days | 50% of balance |
≤ 20 days | 0% |
Example:
Trip price: €2,000
Deposit: €500
Balance: €1,500
Cancellation 30 days before → Refund = 50% of €1,500 = €750
You may transfer your booking to another person (on your own or with our help), provided that:
We receive the request at least 10 days before the start date.
The new participant meets all trip requirements (visa, health, insurance, etc.).
Fees and Refunds by Product Type
Product Type | Admin Fee | Refundable Amount After Full Payment by Replacement |
---|---|---|
Workshops | Free | 100% HomeAwe credit (or replacement participates directly) |
Individual Volunteer | €75 | Refundable amount (per Section 3) minus €75 |
Group Trips | €100 + airline name-change fees | Full replacement payment minus original deposit |
Why is the deposit non-refundable?
It covers prior marketing and administrative costs. The new participant pays their own deposit upon joining.
If we are forced to cancel, postpone, or significantly alter the activity due to circumstances beyond our control (e.g., natural disasters, border closures, pandemic, major security event):
Full Travel Credit (default option): 100% of the paid amount, with no expiration, transferable once.
Cash Refund: The amount recoverable from third parties (e.g., airlines, hotels), minus non-refundable costs. A breakdown will be provided.
Issued as a unique HomeAwe code.
Valid for any HomeAwe activity in the same currency.
Non-refundable once issued.
Must be used in a single transaction. Any remaining balance stays valid until expiry date.
This policy does not override your statutory rights under Israeli Consumer Protection Law, the EU Package Travel Directive (for residents of the EEA), or any other applicable mandatory local legislation. If those laws grant you stronger rights, they will apply.
